Category 5 Hurricane Shutters offers two different kinds of Clear Hurricane Protection Products (also referred to as Lexan or Polycarbonate Products). Some of the advantages of these products are: visibility in a storm, allowing light into a home even while the product is deployed and the ability to leave the product up year round.

One type of Transparent Product we offer is the Clear Panel. This looks just like your standard corrugated panel, only it is a polycarbonate material that allows light to enter your home. It can be put up and taken down in a similar manner to the standard panel.

The other Transparent Product we offer is a little more unique. This Flat Clear Lexan Sheet, known as CLEARLY PROTECTED (GE LEXAN 10) is almost like putting a Lexan window in front of your existing window. While it is removable, many homeowners choose to keep it in place all year round, as it is almost unnoticeable. It can be designed to fit any shape, so it is a perfect fit for arched and other irregular openings. It is also a great product for fixed glass openings on the second floor of the home, since it can be left up permanently, therefore not requiring a ladder to close.
